PSA: Amazon reviews
I've had a few people contact me regarding deleted reviews on Amazon. As far as I can tell, Amazon will delete any reviews that contain profanity. This means that if you mention Mind Fuck in a review of another book in the series, the review will automatically be nuked without notice. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about this, beyond hopefully preventing people wasting their time in the future.
The inspiration for the Administration series of stories is a maxim of Chris Boucher, script editor of Blakes 7There are no bad guys. There are no good guys. There are only better guys, and worse guys.
One of the worse guys is Val Toreth. In a world where torture is a legitimate part of the investigative process, he works for the Investigation and Interrogation Division .
One of the better guys is Keir Warrick, a corporate director. His small corporation, SimTech, is developing a 'sim' system which places users in a fully-immersive virtual reality.
Their world is the dark future dystopia of New London, where Europe is controlled by a totalitarian bureaucracy, which shares political power with powerful corporations. The oppressive government uses torture, violence and the various Divisions of the feared Department of Internal Security to maintain power. The corporations fight amongst themselves, using lethal force under the euphemism of 'corporate sabotage', uniting only to resist attempts by the Administration to extend its control over them.
The series follows Warrick and Toreth, and their families, friends and enemies as they struggle to survive and hope to prosper.
Oh, yesand there is sex, and violence, and other things that upset the people who rate films. Those of you who want to know more can check the warnings page.
There are three novels, three novellas and twenty-eight short stories in total. I strongly recommend reading the series in the order presented to the rightthis is not quite the same as their time-line order. If you would like a taster to introduce the Administration stories, then the first section of the novel 'Mind Fuck' makes a stand-alone short story, 'Virtual'.
(with word count)
If you want to keep up to date with the Administration, there is a notes and news journal at Livejournal, and also at Tumblr. Any future announcements about the series, or about my fiction in general, will be made there. There is also a discussion community, if you'd like to talk about the series with others or ask me questions.
And that's all, other than to say that I hope you enjoy the stories.
Without my editor, this site, and indeed the Administration stories themselves, would never have come to exist. She first suggested the sim, and helped me write the short story which grew into Virtual. Since then, she has tirelessly beta-read and given more help and ideas than I could begin to count. Thanks for being a wonderful friend.
I'd also like to thank my husband, who has patiently tolerated the
obsession dedication which has produced the Administration stories, and has also been kind enough to read and comment on the stories themselves.

Please do not archive these stories anywhere else, including as translations into any other language. All original characters and settings were created by me, but I have no objection to them being used for non-profit fanfiction only. Actually, I'd be incredibly flattered. All I ask is that if you do feel inspired, you must credit me and label the story as fanfic, and please link back to this site.
